Analysis of the Quality of Motorcycle Crankshafts

We’ve been discussing motorcycle crankshafts at length, covering their performance in great detail. As we all know, the crankshaft is a core component of a motorcycle engine, so its quality is of paramount importance. So how do we assess the quality of a crankshaft?
When the crankshaft is damaged, the engine emits a very muffled, almost disintegrating sound. A check with the connecting rod should reveal a slight clearance on the left and right sides, but there must be no longitudinal play; otherwise, the crankshaft must be replaced. If the crankshaft bearings are worn, the engine will produce a loud noise that is entirely distinct from ordinary friction or knocking sounds.
During operation, we should not only inspect the crankshaft but also check the condition of the crankpin. Every component in the engine is critical, so regular maintenance is essential.
